The harsh winter conditions have already begun to wreak havoc with my skin. The cold and wind outside coupled with central heating at home has rendered my skin dry and dull. I love what scrubs do for my skin, especially the way my skin feels so soft and supple afterward. Sometimes though, it’s hard to find a scrub or peel that isn’t too rough–those made with crushed nuts can actually rip and tear your skin. Prep is different from any other microderm/exfoliator I’ve tried. The crystal particles (no chemicals) are super fine and teeny tiny but they do an excellent job of exfoliation. Although Prep is serious microderm treatment, it is creamy, smells great and is infused with botanicals that both brighten AND soothe. It is formulated with vitamins and antioxidants that heal and protect and peptides that smooth existing wrinkles and help prevent new ones. I’ve tried Olay, Origins, Philosophy and many others but none as effective as YBF Prep–nor with immediate results like Prep gives.
While the crystals polish, skin brighteners like alpha arbutin and niacin help balance uneven skin tone and give a refreshed and more youthful appearance. This was true in my case after only two days.
When I use Prep, my skin feels deep down in-the-pores clean, looks smoother and I get an instant glow. Another benefit of microdermabrasion, is that your skin is primed for deeper penetration of the other active ingredients. Prep can also be used as a mask– I use it in the shower, gently scrubbing in a circular motion then leave it on for a few minutes while I wash my hair and exfoliate my body.
Make sure not to scrub too hard—if you have sensitive skin, you may want to opt for something lighter, but if you want an at-home microdermabrasion treatment that will yield instant results, I don’t think you will be disappointed with Prep.
Packaging: a 1.7 oz jar
Quality: a serious microdermabrasion treatment packed full of vitamins, antioxidants, skin brighteners and wrinkle fighters. The crystals are minuscule and very effective.
Value: not cheap at $80 for a 1.7 oz jar.
Best For: anyone that needs powerful exfoliation and desires fresher, younger, brighter skin and a more even skin tone.
Overall: Prep is a highly effective at-home microdermabrasion treatment that renders immediate results with the added benefits of brightening, balancing skin tone, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and smoothing the skins texture. Prep is expensive but effective–it’s hard to paint a pretty picture without a good canvas underneath all the paint
